Step 1: Install Python 3.10–3.12 (64-bit), Visual Studio Code, and the Python extension.
Step 2: Extract the project ZIP file and open the alumni_project folder in VS Code.
Step 3: Open the VS Code terminal and navigate to the project folder
cd path\to\alumni_project
Step 4: Create a virtual environment
python -m venv venv
Step 5: Activate the virtual environment

Step 6: Upgrade pip and install dependencies

Step 9: Create demo data and sample accounts
python manage.py seed_demo

Step 11: Start the Django development server
