- Open the extracted updategadh_school folder in Visual Studio Code.
- Open the terminal and run:
cd updategadh_school
- Create a virtual environment:
python -m venv venv
- Activate the environment in Windows PowerShell:
venv\Scripts\Activate.ps1
- Install the required dependencies:
pip install -r requirements.txt
- Create the environment configuration file:
copy .env.example .env
- Configure the required Django settings in the .env file.
- Generate database migrations:
python manage.py makemigrations accounts core academics people attendance exams fees campus
- Apply the migrations:
python manage.py migrate
- Create an administrator account:
python manage.py createsuperuser
- Initialize the school data:
python manage.py setup_initial
- Run the project:
python manage.py runserver
- Open the following address in your browser:
http://127.0.0.1:8000/
Optional: Load demonstration data for local testing
python manage.py seed_demo
