Doctor Appointment Management System Using Python and Django is a complete web-based healthcare management application designed to simplify appointment scheduling and clinic operations. The system provides dedicated workspaces for Patients, Doctors and Administrators with role-specific access and workflows.
The application manages doctor profiles, specializations, availability schedules, time-off records, patient information, appointments, medical history, prescriptions, payments, invoices, notifications, reports and online video consultations. It is developed using Django 5.2 with server-rendered templates, CSS and Vanilla JavaScript.

1. Install Python 3.10 to 3.14 and Visual Studio Code. 2. Extract the project ZIP file and open the folder containing manage.py in VS Code. 3. Open the VS Code terminal. 4. Create a virtual environment using: python -m venv .venv 5. Activate the virtual environment on Windows using: .\.venv\Scripts\Activate.ps1 6. Upgrade pip using: python -m pip install --upgrade pip 7. Install project dependencies using: python -m pip install -r requirements.txt 8. Create a .env file in the same directory as manage.py. 9. Configure the required Django, email and Zoom environment variables in the .env file. 10. Add Zoom credentials using: ZOOM_ACCOUNT_ID=your_account_id 11. Add the Zoom Client ID using: ZOOM_CLIENT_ID=your_client_id 12. Add the Zoom Client Secret using: ZOOM_CLIENT_SECRET=your_client_secret 13. Add the Zoom user using: ZOOM_USER_ID=me 14. Create a Zoom Server-to-Server OAuth application and activate it. 15. Configure the required Zoom meeting permissions for creating and updating meetings. 16. Run database migrations using: python manage.py migrate 17. Create the administrator account using: python manage.py createsuperuser 18. Check the project using: python manage.py check 19. Run the project tests using: python manage.py test 20. Start the Django server using: python manage.py runserver 21. Open http://127.0.0.1:8000/ in your browser. 22. Configure email settings if OTP, password reset and optional email notifications are required. 23. Do not publish the Zoom Client Secret or commit the .env file to a public repository.
