Project Overview
Tourism Management System Using MERN Stack is a full-stack web application designed to simplify travel package management and online tour bookings. It provides a centralized platform where users can explore destinations, review tour packages, make bookings, and share feedback about their travel experiences.
The application uses React.js for the frontend, Node.js and Express.js for backend operations, and MongoDB for storing users, tour packages, bookings, and reviews. JWT-based authentication and password hashing support secure account access, while REST APIs connect the frontend and backend.
Key Features
- User Registration and Login: Allow users to create accounts and sign in using JWT-based authentication.
- Password Security: Use password hashing to protect stored user passwords.
- Tour Package Browsing: Explore available tour packages and view their images, descriptions, prices, and travel details.
- Tour Package Management: Allow administrators to add, update, and delete tour packages.
- Online Tour Booking: Enable logged-in users to book available tour packages.
- Booking History: Allow users to review previous and upcoming bookings.
- Booking Management: Provide administrators with access to booking records and package information.
- Ratings and Reviews: Allow users to submit ratings and reviews after completing trips.
- Review Management: Enable administrators to review and manage customer feedback.
- User Management: Allow administrators to view and manage registered user accounts, including removing inactive or duplicate accounts where required.
- Responsive Frontend: Use reusable React components and dynamic content rendering for a responsive browsing experience.
- REST API Integration: Connect authentication, tour packages, bookings, and reviews through Express.js API routes and middleware.
- MongoDB Data Storage: Maintain persistent records for users, packages, bookings, and reviews.
User Workspace
The user workspace allows customers to register, log in, browse available tour packages, review package prices and descriptions, book trips, access booking information, and submit ratings and reviews after completing their travel experiences.
Administrator Workspace
The administrator workspace provides functions for managing tour packages, viewing and managing registered user accounts, monitoring customer bookings, and reviewing customer feedback. These tools help organize travel-related operations from one centralized interface.
Tour Package Management
Administrators can add new tour packages, update existing package information, and remove packages when necessary. Package listings can include images, descriptions, prices, and travel details so users can evaluate available options before booking.
Booking Management
Logged-in users can book available tour packages and review their booking history. Booking information is stored in MongoDB, while the administrator can monitor booking records and their associated package information.
Ratings and Reviews
Users can submit ratings and reviews after completing trips. This feedback helps other customers understand travel experiences and gives administrators a way to review and manage submitted feedback.
